1. How can I know more about SISNeT?

To know more about SISNeT, we recommend the reading of the articles and presentations available at the publications section of the SISNeT website.

2. I am interested in the development of SISNeT-based applications. Where can I obtain technical information?

The SISNeT User Interface Document constitutes a technical guideline for the development of SISNeT-compliant applications.

3. How can I get access to the SISNeT services?

Access to SISNeT requires setting up an access account. Detailed information can be found here.

4. I have received the information corresponding to my new SISNeT access account. How can I start using SISNeT?

ESA has recently launched the SISNeT User Application Software (UAS) available for free download. This enables each new user to easily experience the working of SISNeT. In order to develop more application specific softwares the users must develop their own UAS using his / her favorite development tools. This procedure seems logical, since each UAS implementation focuses on a very specific application. Other ways to connect easily include using the hyperterminal in a Microsft Windows based PC.

5. Can I access the SISNeT Data Server using my Web browser?

The SISNeT client applications exchange information with the Data Server through a specific application-layer protocol (example of other application-layer protocols are FTP or SMTP). This protocol is called DS2DC and is explained in detail in the SISNeT User Interface Document.
A Web browser (client) is designed to exchange information with a Web server (using a protocol optimized for transferring web pages). On the other hand, a SISNeT client is designed to exchange information with a DS2DC server (using the DS2DC protocol, which is optimized to exchange SBAS-related information). Therefore, a Web browser cannot be used to access SISNeT.
